Marcos brushes aside flood control questions

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. brushed aside media questions about the government's flood control efforts after Typhoon Carina's destructive path in Luzon.

The President's reaction came days after he touted his administration's flood prevention measures in his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) last July 22.

During a media interview following the situation briefing on the effects of Typhoon Carina and the enhanced southwest monsoon last July 24, a reporter asked the President about the status of flood control projects.

The pervasive favoritism is said to benefit those from the Comptroller family or close associates of the AFP’s Chief of Staff. Top officials are accused of compromising meritocracy for personal gains, and close associates are reportedly appointed to key positions. 

SWS poll reveals discrepancy in BBM hunger solution claims

The most recent hunger survey data released by the Social Weather Stations (SWS) has dealt a significant blow to President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s claims of success in combating malnutrition, challenging the credibility of his touted achievements in hunger alleviation efforts.

Marcos Jr. cited his administration's initiatives to address hunger and malnutrition in his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) on July 22, which coincided with Nutrition Month.
