Will BBM sacrifice Martin?

“As far as I’m concerned, it’s a storm in a teacup,” declared President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. in a rare admonition of the House of Representatives’ fixation to impeach Vice President Sara Duterte.

It’s probably the first time BBM openly contradicted the HoR led by his cousin, Speaker Martin Romualdez, prompting speculations that all is not well between the two.

BBM and ‘the most fatal song’

President Ferdinand Marcos blinked first in the fierce eyeball-to-eyeball confrontation with Vice President Sara Duterte when he pulled the plug on one of the most divisive issues today.

Less than a week after he declared that he would not be “moved” (di patitinag), BBM retreated with a message to Congress to halt the impeachment moves against Vice President Inday.

Don’t use our name for personal agenda, Balabac IPs to group

The Molbog indigenous peoples of Balabac, Palawan strongly denounced the SAMBILOG-Balik Bugsuk Movement for misrepresenting themselves as legitimate indigenous claimants to the lands of Bugsuk and Mariahangin.

In a joint statement issued by the Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representatives (IPMRs) of Balabac and its barangays, the Molbog leaders asserted their rightful place as the ancestral custodians of these territories while exposing the group’s questionable origins and motives.

AN EXISTENTIAL THREAT

The sanctity of confidential and intelligence funds (CIF) is paramount for any government aiming to safeguard its security and sovereignty, both on a national and international scale. These funds act as the silent backbone of state security operations, allowing intelligence agencies and security forces to preempt, counter, and neutralize threats that could destabilize the nation.

Without these funds, governments lose their ability to maneuver discreetly and effectively in the face of emerging challenges.

Filipinos the biggest losers

What was billed as a shot at redemption, the Marcos 2.0 regime has backfired big-time for the Marcos family.

It’s no secret that the objective of the Quadcomm investigation, and the Senate before it, is to “unmask” FPRRD as a “monster” for the death of thousands in the war on drugs during his term.

The same is true of the witch-hunt against Vice President Sara Duterte and the Office of the Vice President, which Quadcomm prejudged even before the hearings could start.

Netizen urges Barbers: ‘Care to invite kin of drug users’ victims

by Omar Fernando

DAVAO CITY — A netizen recently called the attention of Surigao del Norte Second District Rep. Robert Ace Barbers, the chair of the House of Representatives’ Quad Committee (Quadcom), to invite the families of those victimized by drug users in the ongoing probe on the war on drugs.

Temz Gordonas, who claimed he is a Surigaonon, a taxpayer, and a Filipino citizen, vowed to convince his family members and friends “to reject anyone connected to Barbers as our next representative in Congress.”

FPRRD ’28 is BBM’s worst nightmare

It was Carl Sandburg who said, “Nothing happens unless first a dream.”

In all likelihood, Davao del Norte Rep. Pantaleon Alvarez was merely dreaming when he asked former President Rodrigo Duterte to run again in 2028.

Perhaps drawing inspiration from the second shot at redemption by US President-elect Donald Trump, Alvarez claims the Constitutional prohibition on reelection does not apply to FPRRD because he is not the sitting president in the next presidential election.
