Former Cavite 1st District Representative Francis Gerald “Boy Blue” Abaya (left) files his Certificate of Candidacy for mayor of Kawit, Cavite, in the 2025 mid-term elections at the local Commission on Elections office on Monday, October 7. With Abaya is his running mate for vice-mayor is businessman Gerry Ramos. The governance style of the Abaya-Ramos tandem is captured in their slogan, “Kawit Muna Bago Sarili” (Kawit First Before Self). Their primary advocacy centers on two essential areas: healthcare and housing.

Kawit mayoral candidate Francis Gerald Abaya also led his other running mates vying for municipal council seats composed of former Barangay Captain Chris Fausto, Barangay Captain Pen Gandia, Derick Bote Bautista, Lili Peregrino, Allan Ilano, Engineer Edgar Repollo, Wee Narvaez, and former Kawit Councilor Medel Caimol.
