Filling the blanks

Details about the scandal that could bring down President Ferdinand Marcos Jr are slowly emerging.

When Cong. Isidro Ungab first exposed the blanks in the Bicameral Report in a podcast with former President Rodrigo Duterte, attended by Atty. Vic Rodriguez, PBBM categorically declared that fPRRD was “lying.”

This morning (January 30), he remained defiant when he told a gathering of lawmakers that he “cannot find those d*mned blank items.” It’s still the same narrative, but it’s easy to see the subtle retreat.

Mabilog pardon, a diversion

Former Iloilo City Mayor Jed Mabilog probably does not know whether to celebrate or grumble.

On one hand, a celebration is due. Imagine being let off the hook on his administrative cases. No doubt it feels like a thorn pulled out.

On the other hand, he is put on the spot by the unusual prominence given the executive clemency. A simple news item would have sufficed. Instead, it was announced by the office of Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin at a time when the latter is in the eye of the storm over his flip-flopping over the Blanks in the Bicameral report Mess (BBM).

CCC underscores importance of information-driven action

MANILA – The Climate Change Commission (CCC) emphasized the role of information-driven climate action in addressing the urgent challenges of climate change at the recent unveiling of the South-South Collaboration Center of Excellence (COE) on Climate Information Services (CIS) at the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) Central Office in Quezon City.

Too much ado over the Bicam Report?

Listening to the different “explanations” of people who should know the truth, we now have at least two different versions of the SIGNED Bicam Report.

One SIGNED Bicam Report with blanks was exposed by Rep. Isidro Ungab and former President Rodrigo Duterte during a podcast with Atty. Vic Rodriguez. Unnoticed at the time, it was mentioned earlier by Sen. Imee Marcos in a privileged speech on Dec. 16, 2025. This has since been corroborated by - of all people - Rep. Raoul Manuel in an interview with GMA 7.

FPRRD’s apples to BBM’s tomatoes

Don’t compare apples with tomatoes.

You've probably heard that line before. It’s what happens when people compare two different objects and draw conclusions from the flawed comparison.

Comparing apples with tomatoes is the strategy being applied by  Malacañang to counter the expose made by former President Rodrigo Duterte. In a Saturday evening podcast, PRRD denounced the Bicameral report on the General Appropriations Bill submitted to Malacañang for PBBM’s signature.
